THE CJ NOMINEE AND HIS CHERISHED STUD: PRIVATE LIFESTYLE VS PUBLIC PERCEPTION
Dr. Willy Mutunga, courtesy of Daily Nation
Once again the local media has found itself in an awkward position. A seemingly innocuous earring that adorns the left earlobe of the man nominated to be Kenya's next Chief Justice, is causing all the rage in public debate.
Ignoring this issue on the grounds that it's trivial might seem a sensible thing for the media to do. But given the public interest generated, whether misguided or inconsequential, failing to highlight the matter, it appears, would be tantamount to taking sides and failing the neutrality or objectivity test.
Below is a sample of how this debate has been shaping up.

Siamini what guyz are posting here! What is the essence of democracy if you cant appreciate diversity and take others for who they are! Freedom of worship (Which includes the right to traditional forms of worship) is enshrined in the recently enacted Kenyan Constitution! Let those who fear reforms including a section of MP's hear that!
So this is wht u vote for in the new constitution (an earing)? is that it, gay marriages, Lesbianism, God forbid. So if the proposed new CJ takes oath of office, are we expected to see gay weddings etc........ soon, then JESUS WILL COME.
Ok, wats all this fuss about a simple stud, so small one has to strain to c it, huh?..,people, country men, please lets for once move kenya forward...even our ancestors wore ear-rings, big ones for that matter!...wats wrong with Willy Mutunga wearing such!?..."why try to remove the spek in my eye while a log has pierced yours!"...lets not be the 1st to throw the stone coz we arent better anyway!
all we require from the man himself is to clarify to us which religion he professes. to me it matters his religious inclinations .it can shape the way he makes his judgments and espouses his judicial decisions. if for instance he practices occultism like onyancha, he might order the release of onyancha and his teacher!!!!!!!!!!!
We as the Kenya youths demands an explanation of wat we should embark on.. can we follow the morals of our incumbent CJ or we stay with our morals as Kenyans?
Dr Mutunga is one of the second gereration freedom fighters. This is a position that he duly deserves so that he sweeps clean the judicially, like a new broom would do. I hope the next interviews for the supreme court disregards the old order and go for reformists...God bless kenya.Momanyi Aburi peter.

its more meaningful to look at the capability than a lifestyle

the work of chief justice has nothing to do with studs.we should all give this guy space to work.
